Lee, I'm working on putting Mikanno out to be available to the public. I will post when it is. Marvel Zombies will be out soon and Creepy is a quarterly book so will be about in maybe another month?
Declan, I'll put up a high rez panel or page when the issue comes out. I don't want to step on anyone's toes.
Jerry, Jerome Witkin? Interesting. While I've enjoyed a good amount of his work, I can't say it's ever been an influence. Mostly a lot of Welsh, Irish, German painters really still influence me.

So.... here's some quick shots from San Diego with huddleson and mahfood and crew after live painting at the club. Here's all of us and Huddleson work on a piece I started. I had an amazing time......I don't remember much after that....

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. The different look for the last piece of the single figure is both, an adjustment to a different kind of Gesso technique and change in approach. I'm trying to accomplish more in each sitting that I have in the past. Less preparation for the next layer of paint and more direct and final brush strokes. An attempt to maintain and not lose the energy that my work starts out with but I feel gets stepped on by over working. I'm looking for more immediacy in the work.

This will technically be considered MIKANNO Vol 1.

I'm going with a new printer and hope to make series of these.
After I quality check the first volume (still at printers), if everything is great, I'll
start producing these more regularly.

So, stay tuned for non San Diego ordering information!!!!

Back baby

I just returned from New York. I flew out to see the Francis Bacon retrospective.

Amazing.

I thought I would take this moment, now that I'm back, for an update.

Just moved into new home and new studio. Fantastic place.
I'm finishing my first DARK HORSE CREEPY story! 8 pages of black and white horror goodness! I'm working on pitch art for my two creator owned properties for publishers and possible film. I'll be starting a super bad ass one-shot for Marvel Comics next month.

I'll surprise you with a sketch.

And I'm painting 4 covers for Dark Horse's SOLOMON KANE series!

And I'm back painting for my first solo exhibition for 101 Exhibit in Miami, Florida in October and also my two-man show for Strychnine Gallery, Berlin in Dec..... which MAY be moved up to September!

The Secret film seems like it's still happening and I'm talking to DH, Dynamic, and Marvel about future work. The Escapists is coming out in paperback and Dead Irons is being collected.

What I've been made aware of is that I've jumped around to too many less notable series'. I've busted my ass trying to get a name for myself and I've failed at maybe picking the right books and sucking at hype. So, now I'm coming to you guys. Anyone who reads this blog/checks out my work. Whether you like my paintings or my illustration, put the word out. I'm renewed and pumping out work like mad. If you like my work and like seeing where it goes, get others into it as well. Help me push my shit so when my own projects come out, they'll explode.

I love the fact you guys like my stuff. I'm deeply honored. I truly am. So lets get this thing bigger!
