Thanks for the nice comments, guys. The different look for the last piece of the single figure is both, an adjustment to a different kind of Gesso technique and change in approach. I'm trying to accomplish more in each sitting that I have in the past. Less preparation for the next layer of paint and more direct and final brush strokes. An attempt to maintain and not lose the energy that my work starts out with but I feel gets stepped on by over working. I'm looking for more immediacy in the work.

this piece is quite different , in terms of composition, and really intresting!
spontaneous moments in the painting process seems so rare, and i have the same thinkings at this time ; it seems that the spontaneous comes when your mind is not anymore between heart and hand.
Bravo Jason!! I love your paints!
Birdies!
love!!
beautiful - i LOVE your work. can't wait to get my hands on your new sketchbook. also, i really like this "loose, final brushstrokes" approach you're exploring.
Hey Jason, really enjoyed your sidebar interview- just digging into your work, which I love.
This seems to be a comment I hear a lot...good to see you are working it out.
