Thanks! Oil on Canvas. 30x30. I don't think kent and I have ever used the same model. I've never studied under anyone, really. Kent and I shared a studio in North Carolina for a couple of years before we moved out to LA.
I like the way the light within your figures seem to glow against the more muted skin tones. A little reminscent of Odd Nerdrums current work. How do you like the contrast of working smaller and more graphically compared to the larger oils? You have a very nice balance within both disciplines.
Thank you. I do like Nerdrum...I love his layering. Guy is amazing. I love guys like Freud, Shani Rhys James, Francis Bacon, Patrick Graham, Goya, Sargent, Saville.....I looked at your page. Nice work. Are you a fan of Saville as well? There are some great patches of paint in your work that remind me of her a bit. Justin mortimer is great as well. MMMMM.
Dude, It was cool to see you and Kevin at Kents show last night. The place was way too crowded, which is an awesome thing for a reception. I was going to introduce myself, but never got around to it. Anyway bro, take care.
Jason, you artwork is spendide and i love the way you layer down you oils. I see that you already know well Kent W. which i love also. I am a big fan of Phil Hale. Anyhow heep up the great work.. Peace

Are you and Kent sharing models? And how long have you been studying under him?
